Students will gain a basic understanding of Dangerous Goods with respect to the aircraft maintenance environment and is particularly relevant to maintenance staff who travel by air to support Aircraft On Ground (AOG) recovery.
Starting with significant historic events that led to the current legislation, students go on learn how to recognise and identify Dangerous Goods labelling and specifications markings.
The course highlights some examples of tools and materials used in aviation maintenance that are classified as Dangerous Goods. Finally, students will learn about the correct process for transportation of spares and materials that are classified as Dangerous Goods.
Any staff who may encounter Dangerous goods during their daily duties and inadvertently for their transport by air.
